2008 Western National Meet

The Western Region invites you to attend "The California Dream Meet" in Irvine, CA, October 8-12, 2008.

The Irvine Marriott, in the heart of Orange County, is the site of the 2008 Western National Meet, hosted by the Western Region. We promise five days of warm California sunshine and hospitality, and a meet right out of the motion pictures. Enjoy fabulous California cuisine, an exciting California harbor cruise, a tour of a fabulous California car collection, a show day on the green grass of Orange County's most beautiful park, and a Saturday night awards banquet to equal any Academy Awards Night gala.

California, here we come...to the greatest car event since Gable and Lombard arrived at the premiere of Gone With the Wind in a 1940 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet.

Schedule of Events

Wednesday, October 8: Registration opens 4-5 p.m. Opening night dinner at Prego's Restaurant (five minutes walking distance from the hotel).

Thursday, October 9: California Dream Cruise, Newport Beach Harbor. A bus will whisk you from the hotel to a breathtaking cruise along the waterfront of John Wayne's legendary Newport Beach. The cruise will be from 4-6 p.m. with a no-host bar and no-host snacks. Dinner after the cruise will be at Newport Landing.

Friday, October 10: See a fabulous California car collection. There will be an Italian Buffet reception dinner at the hotel with another riotous auction conducted by our very own Randy Mytar, the Jerry Lewis of auctioneers.

Saturday, October 11: Show day at Mason Regional Park. This is the ultimate show field in California or anywhere else. The cars will be displayed on the grass with plenty of room between each car and plenty of shade trees when you get too much California sun. A bag lunch will be provided.

Awards Banquet. Back at the hotel, enjoy a full plated dinner with dessert and coffee in the ballroom followed by the awards.

Mechanical judging will be held on Thursday and Friday with late pick-ups on Saturday morning. Geoff Weiner will provide and man the hospitality room. We will have a storage and packet pickup room on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4-5 p.m. each day and Saturday at the park.
